Evolution of the main character: Kassim Namour (Kiss) for “The Chronicles of Namur”.
Kassim Namour, a single man in his forties, unemployed and of uncertain origin, intrigues the neighbourhood of La Corbeille. Since moving to Namur, Kassim has had great difficulty integrating. His bohemian lifestyle, his frizzy hair, his dark complexion and his shaggy beard do not help him to find a job nor in love. But Kassim is a sensitive, selfless and loyal man. He is also the main character and narrator of the story.
Through his anxieties, caused by repeated insomnia, Kassim describes his daily life as if in a diary. His presence also makes it possible to address another form of exclusion: that of foreigners in addition to the poor.
